In his twenty year career, Don’s experience as a recording engineer has paired him up with entertainers such as Martina McBride, 3rd Eye Blind, Billy Preston, Good Charlotte, The Ataris, Willie Aames, Tom Bosley, Ed Asner, Tom Posten, Warren Moon, Buck O’Neil, Bill McGlaughlin, and more.

High profile clients and projects include: Wal-Mart, Russell Stover, Pizza Hut, Sonic, TNT, Hallmark Hall of Fame, Disney, Blockbuster Video, CNBC, Planet Hollywood, Universal Theme Parks, and many others.

His work on Adina Howard’s Do You Wanna Ride CD earned Don both the 3M Visionary Award and an RIAA Gold Record. The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts awarded him their Meritous Achievement Award for his gripping electronic score from Until Daylight.

As a composer, his body of work encompasses everything from independent films like The Company Man, The Empty Acre and Descansos, to the dramatic play Until Daylight, as well as music for corporate clients such as GE and American National Insurance Company.

An accomplished pianist and synthesist, and an award-winning recording engineer, Don James composes both regionally and nationally. He is a passionate artist who likes to associate himself with projects that change the way people think about themselves and the world they live in.
